Message When you get a referral from multiple different sources to one body shop, one would expect great customer service and great work.

Jeff's Auto Body and Repair, a lot of you have probably heard about it, good things I suppose.

I was referred to speak with the manager, Donny Barker, regarding my collision. On June 2, I brought my Z to him for an estimate, which he could not do at the time because of the amount of damage that's possibly hidden.

Here are the pictures of the accident:

I told him I wanted to minimize costs (doing suspension myself and buying SOME parts used and OEM Jspec bumper cover), and he put on his face and agreed with me. I showed him how the engine was not sitting properly in the engine bay. It's sitting off-kilter and is rather noticeable. To him, this indicated frame damage. I kept thinking in the back of my mind, gee, the impact was not serious enough to cause frame damage, something else is wrong. I told him about the referrals, and he said he wanted to get me fixed up nice and right, however, I'd have to wait 3 weeks before he can even look at it.

After 3 long weeks, I delivered my car to him, hoping to hear some good news within a couple of days. 3 days go by, I kept calling and bugging for an update, no update. 4 days gone by, he's waiting to get a truck off the frame machine. 5-7 days gone by, no response. 8 days, he needs to have authorization from my insurance to even get it on the frame machine (why couldn't he tell me this before??). 9 days, insurance adjustor goes to look at the car expecting to get an idea of whether the car is totalled or not, the car hasn't even been looked at!! 10 days, body shop finally refuses to work on the car (after not even looking at it) because I'd be supplying a bunch of the parts.

GRRRR...

From day 1, I was given the runaround, I made sure that I told them I had parts I wanted on. I was told to sit on my ass and wait for this BS??

For those of you who don't know, body shops SUCK. They're greedy, and seem only loyal to insurance companies, not the car owners. I asked Donny for updates before he called the insurance company, which he completely disregarded. I asked for additional work to be done outside of what insurance would be paying (e.g. fixing spoiler, repainting rear quarterpanel and bumper), he said he would not do it. A full paintjob he would not do.

For such a standup reputation, I would recommend this body shop ONLY if you wanted to be disappointed with customer service. I can't make referrals based on the quality of work because THEY REFUSED TO SERVICE MY CAR.
